Halo Group Acquires Leading Perth-based Governance Firm, Evolution Corporate Services

Halo Group Holdings Pty Ltd (Halo Group) is pleased to announce the merger of its existing company secretarial and governance advisory business, Emerson CoSec, with Perth based Evolution Corporate Services (Evolution).

Evolution is a professional services business providing company secretarial, corporate governance, IPO management and general corporate advisory services to clients around Australia across the resources, oil & gas, mining services, manufacturing, technology and infrastructure industries.

The merger of Evolution with Emerson CoSec provides Halo Group with a truly national governance footprint and follows on from the recently announced establishment of Hamilton Locke’s fourth national office in Perth in February this year. The Evolution team, led by qualified lawyer and Chartered Secretary, Shannon Coates, will join Halo Group’s Perth based office from 1 July 2022, subject to binding legal agreements and customary closing conditions.

Nick Humphrey, Chairman of Halo Group said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Evolution team to the Group, expanding our governance and company secretarial services into the Western Australia market. Evolution’s client base and business model strategically aligns to our existing offering, enhancing our efforts to evolve the legal, governance, risk and compliance landscape in Australia”.

Shannon Coates, Managing Director of Evolution said: “I am excited to be joining the Emerson CoSec team and to become part of the broader Halo Group as it continues its impressive growth trajectory. Halo Group’s focus on providing its people with exceptional personal and professional development opportunities, together with an innovative approach to client service, was a significant factor in my decision to merge the Evolution business with Emerson CoSec”.

Halo Group, which provides innovative client solutions across legal, governance, risk and compliance, has continued to grow in 2022, recently reaching the milestone of 200 employees, as well as announcing the acquisition of specialist financial services compliance provider, Compliance for Business. Halo Group has been recognised by the Australian Financial Review as the 5th fastest growing company in Australia generating $25 million or more of revenue in FY21.
